Join Our Salsa Classes!

Our classes are friendly and supportive, with small numbers so that you get more attention and plenty of time to ask questions. It's not just about learning to dance but being part of a community. We regularly go to a local pub for a drink & chat after class.

For those who have done salsa before we teach LA/NY Cross body style salsa.

FAQs

Do I need to come with a partner?

No, we rotate partners in class so you are welcome to come alone, or bring a friend. We encourage everyone to rotate partners as it helps to learn how to lead/follow correctly and means that Danie can also dance with everyone to give them feedback. If you wish to stay with your partner and not rotate please let Danie know at the beginning of class.

What should I wear?

It's most important to wear something you are comfortable in. Most people wear casual / smart casual clothing that aren’t too restrictive, but sportswear is fine too. Shoes should have a smooth sole - trainers are ok as long as they are not too grippy. Avoid heavy boots or rubber soles that will make it hard to turn.

Heels are not required, but if you would like to wear them it’s best to choose a pair with a low-mid heel that have an ankle strap, or an ankle boot, so they won’t slip off your heel as you dance.

What if I have two left feet?

Awesome I’d love to see them! So many people have told me that over the years, and I’ve yet to find someone I can’t teach salsa to. People learn at different paces and that’s totally fine. I have lots of patience to repeat things, explain in a different way or answer questions, so please don’t worry. Our classes are relaxed and supportive, just come along and try it and then you can decide if you like it or not!

Do I have to commit to a number of classes? / What if I can’t come every week?

If you’ve never tried salsa before how will you know if you like it? You’re very welcome to come and try a class, if you decide it’s not for you that’s absolutely fine, no hard feelings! But you might just love it ;)

I know life is busy and you can’t always make a class every week. I'll never make you feel bad for missing a class. This is meant to be fun, not another commitment that causes you stress. Obviously people tend to learn more quickly if they attend regularly, so it might take a little longer if you miss some classes, so just be patient with yourself!
